The 2DS is for parents to buy little kids who don't want to cough up the extra 50 bucks for the 3DS. It's larger, and less easy to lose. And since there's no clamshell hinges, much harder to break. This is legitimately the target market. Parents of children who don't want to spend too much.

They're far, far worse. I've never broken a GBASP and I still use it to this day to play Leaf Green and Emerald, but I've had my Zelda 3DS break on me twice.

No, you have no excuse for this shit, if a device is not extremely bulky or heavy, can run on battery power for an extended period of time, and is able to be easily fit in a messenger bag or backpack, it is portable.

For all those claiming that getting a 2DS will save you money, check out nintendo's refurbished consoles. I bought my 3DS from there and it came with all the bells and whistles, ran like new and even came in box with a user manual

I seriously don't get the hang up you people have about it being able to fold. Nobody cries about their iPad not being able to fold. Nobody cries about their phone not being able to fold. Folding isn't the great miracle everybody makes it out to be.

3DSXL is better

Another advantage is easier on the hands but the 2DS/3DS is suited for baby hands.
