Also is it just me, or did gamefreak's usual shiney decision of "just make it green" change to "just make it purple" for this gen?

I haven't played Pokemon in a long time. This is my first time on /vp/ and I've noticed shitposting is through the roof here, but I was just going by what the previous poster had implied.
