Hey guy, Wonder Trade is a goddamn gift economy. I know that in the age of commerce we've largely forgotten how those work, but let me explain:
You try to give good shit. Especially if circumstance has placed you in a position where good shit is easier for you to come by than others, like version exclusives or starters which you can easily breed but others can't get at all.
When something good comes your way, you reward the person who helped with gestures of appreciation, like sending them nices or using O-Powers on them. When something shit appears, just release it and move on. Maybe that was just the best that someone in the early game could get at the time; you just made their game, and anyway if they're trolling with shitmons getting your crustles in a hustle is just letting them win.
Over time, the Wonder Trade becomes a place where the cultural expectation is you at least TRY to give good mons away, and people are appreciative of generosity. It becomes an asset whereby people can turn something easy for them but hard for others into something easy for everyone, rather than instilling a toxic culture where people are stingy because they don't expect to get something awesome for the awesome thing they're giving.
I for one am anxious to find an Impostor Ditto, since now both parents can breed down Hidden Abilities and if this goes for Ditto too, everything I breed will have a shot at having its Hidden Ability, even mons without Dream World releases. Since 99 times in 100 I don't want those abilities, and I'm just breeding the mon for some other reason, I can toss Hidden Abilities out into the ether. It's low cost to me, but might make someone's day. And then that someone, who already has Pokerus, might fling it out into the ether to others who never got it. And just like that, a BUNCH more people have DW breeding and Rus-spreading abilities, making Wonder Trade EVEN BETTER, and so on.
Don't kill that potential.
