How to make this Beauty competitive?
Here's mine so far:
Aurorus @ Leftovers
Ability: Refrigerate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Calm Mind
Any suggestions? Also Aurorus thread.

I'd grab Blizzard or Freeze Dry over Ice Beam and have another coverage move instead of SR, but otherwise its probably the optimal build.

Refrigerate is only useful if you use Normal type moves. The one you can catch in the Friend Safari has Snow Warning

Each user on your friend list is randomly (possibly) assigned a type, you can go to their friend safari and will find pokemon of that type. If they've beaten the E4, additional different pokemon of that type appear.

last i checed, doesnt that thing have like 6 weaknesses? i wanted to use him on my team to cuz its cool, but it has so many weaknesses including 4x weaknesses that it kind of turned me off

I have the same setup as you, but instead of stealth rock I have Hyper Beam, figured I might as well put it's nature to use.

Doesn't matter. You lead to apply hail then switch out until needed. This whole LOL TOO MANY WEAKNESSES bullshit doesn't stop half of the ou roster with crippling weaknesses from getting the job done when used properly.

except hail and all other weather effects only last 5 turns in this game and thats it.

the reason why most of those OU pokemon were OU was because weather effects being permanent. it isnt anymore.

If it's not in the friend safari, it will have to come from the new dream world.

I hope tyrantrum gets something good as well, he doesn't seem to have a whole lot of moves that actually benefit from strong jaw.

I would run it with a timid nature with a scarf so it can surprise and oneshot most other foes that it fears. 120 special attack i would not fuck with.

not really dude, its got the natural bulk, kinda weak defensive typing, awesome special attack, and one rockpolish will be enough to outspeed almost everything

There are tier lists for a reason, Aurorus will be in NU and be a decent weather set up if he does get Snow warning. If he doesn't, you could run his scarf set and outspeed everyone thats not 130 total or higher scarf users. Put that 120 base special to work

Which it will almost never get the opportunity to do against a competent player. Don't get me wrong, I love auraurus, but its typing is too bad defensively and its too slow to be expected to get off more than one attack before it dies.

I choose not to play competitively because I don't really enjoy it. Auraurus is usable, it's just difficult, and you have to be careful what you match it up against. If something can't hat it for double-supereffective damage it can usually tank okay, it's just that fighting and steel moves are increasingly common.
