Can we have a Super Training thread to discuss and help each other out?

I'm still new to the whole super training thing but it seems pretty handy in turning my pokemon into beasts.

Currently Super Training Sylveon. Working on his special attack but what else should I focus on? I'm thinking Special Defense and a little HP?

Is anyone else here having a really hard time due to being left handed? The whole super training thing is meant to be a fun alternative to EV training but it just bums me out.

Hit the white goals with regular balls, try not to waste your charge too much. After 2-3 refreshes of the white goals a red goal will appear, and charge your shots. You'll be rapidfiring as you're charging and absolutely railing on the red goal. Just focus on getting the reds to appear as fast as you can.

Agreed. Helioptile really struggled at first but when you get some of your attack evs done it becomes hella quick when the red goals pop up

Didnt bother with ST before until I noticed my modest Goodra has little to no SpA evs and tons of att evs. Is there any way to reset evs aside from the berries?

There's a Reset Bag you can get in Super Training just for punching the default bag. It resets everything.

Punch the default bag and you'll get random training bags. Idunno how long it takes to drop but I got 3 in about 30 minutes and I heard others didn't get one for about an hour.

In addition to the reset bag, the EV reducing berries remain.

What's more is that the berry growing field has a new mechanic, you can get mutations by growing two different crops side by side.

Here's a known mutation, an oran plant and pecha plant together might produce a qualot berry.

Serebii.net has three known mutations so far.

With this you can remove junk EVs instead of totally resetting them. The berry farm harvest is also VERY plentiful, depending on how often you remove weeds.

Reset Bag clears all of your EV training at once.
EV reducing berries still exist, if you want the old way. You can get these by cross-polinating common berries (ex. Planting Chesto/Persim next to each other gives you a chance of getting a Kelpsy, which you can then multiply.

I don't have trouble with it, but if I just spam balls then I don't get the record time, and I believe you have a greater chance of getting Large Bags if you beat it in the target time. I might just be lucky though, but it feels like I get them more often when I do.

What determines the damage your shots do in training?

The pokemon's stats? EVs? Happiness?

More EVs = more damaging shots.
All EVs will boost points, but in particular offensive stats boost points exceptionally, defensive stats reduce penalties, and speed allows for faster maneuvers, and maybe faster travelling shots.

I'm doing Atk and Spd on my Pancham right now. I don't have Tyrunt yet but when I get a look at his stats I'll know for sure.
But yeah, Pangoro has SHIT Spd so make sure you do that.

Anybody know what a good spread would be for my Naive (+Spd, -SpecDef) Froakie?

I figured that was a good nature for him, but I'm new to this EV business. I'm guessing I should focus on his Speed and one of the Attack stats?

Resetting it can be a pain compared to simply working the stats as you go, but thanks to super training and such it's never really TOO late.

If you want to go through the main game before sweating EVs you could do it just fine.

Don't worry about EV training so much for the main game, if you have junk EVs it doesn't matter that much since the game has a crazy way of making you overlevelled as it is.
On top of EXP Share being VERY generous, it seems like the EXP rate is way higher than it used to be.

You always want Spd on Froakie, but as for Atk or Sp Atk it's up to you. He can learn both Special and Physical attacks so either one is a good choice if you know what you're doing. I personally went with Sp Atk.

I don't understand how to charge shots with the rapidfire types.

Does it just fully charge automatically after a period of time? Because from what I can tell it doesn't have anything to do with the circle meter like with the other types.

Finish resting? You mean when they're on their side? You can stop that at anytime you want anon. And that doesn't affect the actual super training itself, just the punching bags. When they are rested it cuts the amount of time to beat a punching bag in half.

Always remember that speed comes first if they aren't a tank.
Speed first, Attack second and last HP/Def.

If your Pokemon is using attacks, boost his attack.
If your Pokemon is using special attacks, boost his special attack.
If you want your Pokemont o attack first, which unless you're using Aegislash you should, boost his speed.

This is really not at all complicated. Every single one of these questions has exactly the same answer.

I found out how it works.

The meter at the bottom is how many balls you can shoot while holding down the stylus and depletes over time. If you hold it down long enough, it becomes charged. Then you can lift the stylus and tap again to fire the charged shots.

Waiting until the meter doesn't charge your shots, but it makes it so that you can fire more shots in rapid succession, which means spending less time waiting for charge shots to happen.

If you don't care about competitive play, go for an attacking stat and hp. (or just both attack and special attack)

It depends on the Pokémon you're using. Ideally, you max out the EVs on the Pokémon's two highest/most important stats. If you were using Delphox, for instance, you'd want to max out both its Speed and Sp. Atk, so those stats get the extra EV boost and make the Pokémon even better at what it does. Look at what your Pokémon does and decide from there.

its base stats are apparently 125/105/65/90/80/70
So it could use either attack or special attack, but it has the ability Sap Sipper which raises attack, so 252 hp/252 attack/4 defense will probably work best.

Safari pokes have 2 perfect IVs. Find one in the same egg group and just catch until you get the right IVs. Suggested to spend some time in the battle facility to use the power items, which when held will guarantee the related IV gets passed on

Even on the speed one, a strong charge shot type dominates. If you go all the way to the top, the effects of the wing movement is minimized, so you can easily predict where you should fire a charge. If anything, rapid is only useful for SpD, and even then it just doesn't have the raw power to beat the other types.

I feel as if you guys don't know how to use rapids. I always set records with rapids on ALL events.

For rapid you aren't supposed to hold the thing down and unleash all hell. Quickly take down the white targets by tapping the touch screen and you keep the meter high. Then when the red goal comes up, unleash all hell and charge shots on it. There's ALWAYS a pattern to when the red goal shows up too, so it isn't just praying it comes up quick.

After figuring out how to do rapid I fucking hate the others.

That's how I'm using rapid. Charge Shot is still infinitely superior because there's no reason to fire more than one ball at a white target. One regular shot for white target + One charged shot for red target = Best possible time. Rapid is useful if you're having trouble aiming at things, but it isn't anywhere near as powerful.

I've been able to beat some lvl 2 and 3 ones super fucking fast when I've nearly maxed out my IVs. But yeah I do mostly lvl 1. When it starts doing enough damage to destroy lvl 2 in 2-4 shots or so I switch to that, but by that time you're almost done anyway.

Any ways to max pokemon in under one hour? I did ev training on lucario yesterday and needes 1 1/2 hour or something. Now i realized its ability is shit and even though some anon mentioned the fact its not a big deal if i evolve him it pisses me off. On the other hand i dont want to waste another 1-2 hours just for autistic reasons.

Someone said something about farming double ev bags, but i doubt its a good idea since that costs time too. So just doing +12ev trainings over and over and use the bags i get there or are there quicker ways?

My Moltres just had a Sp.Atk of 198, I used a +12 punching bag on it, and now it's at 200.

So there's some increase, but there's probably some calculation the game does with that value and your pokemon's level and some other stuff to figure out what the increase is. There's probably an EV Guide somewhere that explains how it works.

It'll tell you when it doesn't have an effect. Or you'll get a smaller boost than normal (like +3 instead of the +4 you were supposed to get). The graph is kind of not a good way to measure EVs, it can somewhat estimate it.

No, I think the EVs are now automatically incorporated. I spent forever EV training my Charmander as soon as I got it and when I finished, I immediately noticed a change in its stats.
You can EV train the traditional way, but Super Training is much faster imo.

Honestly, for main game I'd say after they get 25-50% of their EVs. You don't need to be super specialized for the game, and that'll get you past the shitgrind of early supertraining. Once you have a lot of money and bargain powers, you should use vitamins to kickstart the stats and kickstart supertraining

You're going to want speed ev's. He takes neutral damage from almost everything (2 weaknesses 1 immunity) so trying to bulk him up isn't going to help.

Because super training damage is based on how many EVs you have. At 0 EVs it's slow and boring, not really worth the time for an in-game team. By the time you'd go for a competitive team, you'll have the resources to buy vitamins to skip the first 200 (or more) EVs.

By endgame you'll have powerful non-competitive Pokemon to grind for bags anyway. Hell, tapping the main screen seems to be the fastest way so stats don't mean anything really.
