I'm on Route 10 and this Psychic wants to battle. He doesn't even allude to measuring power levels in his opening dialogue before the battle. Then, we get this shit.
I cringed when a Youngster on Route 7 made the "I like shorts" joke, but I let that slide. It was terrible, yes, but it was a Pokemon joke. But this is unacceptable. They put in a Dragonball Z reference for absolutely no valid reason. The only explanation I have for this is that Game Freak (or whoever else does the writing for dialogue in this game) is getting really lazy that they have to use memes to keep their writing fresh and relevant. Writing isn't that hard to do, Game Freak (or whoever).
I seriously lost all of my initiative to even keep playing this fucking game. I feel like I'm going to encounter seventy Youngster Joey jokes after this, and a crap-ton of other old internet memes that aren't even relevant to Pokemon, like the power levels meme.
Who else feels this way?
