is there any way to determine how good the IV's of the event torchic are when you recieve it, or am i boned if the IV's are crap when i maxed it?

Males can pass their ability on 6th Gen so just get an Adamant Nature and you'll be able to get a baby Torchic with good IV's (and it's dad Nature, of course).

Nature is still mother dependant, yes. He's talking about the ability. You can breed your male Torchic and get offspring that have Speed Boost.

Most will still have Blaze, but not all. Not 50/50 like if the female has the ability, but you can still do it.
