Does the orange tag hat have to be from the Lumiose Boutique? The only orage tag hats I'm seeing anywhere else are camo hats, but those aren't working.

You have orange tag shoes too right? I don't even think lumiose sells orange tag. When I put my stuff on I got that rainbow burst effect thing when I put them on, maybe that's part of it

Maybe try buying a brighter/more vibrant hat and shoes. Orange tag might just be a coincidence in that it has the bright items in it

i think it's less about a specific combo of clothing and more about how well they fit together.

I have an all black outfit, made up of the black beanie, black feather, black chinos, black splatter shirt, black bag, and black sneakers, that got me into the Lumiose boutique.

so try a one color outfit and see how that works.

in that case check the background sparks after you change your clothes, they'll be different if you match up with a style.

Damn this looks bad.

Alright so I changed a bunch of clothes and eventually I got those multicolored lights in the background with a different sound that plays when I hit change. This isn't it though. Still looking for stuff. I'll post a combo that works whenever I find it.

Try using a vibrant hat, not that dark camo one. They specifically mention hat and shoes, I've honestly been suspecting the camo hat's to be blamed from the start

There's gotta be more. When I equipped the Pangoro hat I got a different animation for wearing all the clothes. It also has a different background color than anything in the shops, so there's probably other stuff with that background.
