What I don't get is the abscence of a Battle Frontier for 3 games now. That's my favorite part of the games that actually include it (even if Plat/HG/SS/ wasn't as good as Emerald) and it's inexcusable that they just leave it out half the time.

I miss seasons too, and was hoping we would see more done with them. It was really neat in Gen 5, but it didn't do much other than make a sole pokemon different aesthetically, and fill up a hole to get that Super Potion laying on the ground.

Yeah, in game it was kind of useless. But it looked nice and made the world feel a bit more alive. I too hoped for new seasonal features, maybe winter clothes on sale in winter months etc.but I guess GF was too busy making shitty mega evos to put it in (and the other 40 pokemon).

It puts an interesting spin on battling. You and your opponent can see each others Pokemon with some hidden ones in reserve, kind of like Washizu Mahjong from Akagi. There's no turn delay for switching, Pokemon can fire their attacks immediately. That's bringing in lots of prediction into the battle. It's too bad it didn't catch on that much, but it's way better than the mess that was Triple Battles.

Even the shit from Yellow version like Little Cup and Pika Cup were interesting variations to try shit with your friends. Double Battles are a godsend, Rotation were equally fun and even Triple were... well, worth a try. The Emerald Battle Frontier was perfect. I also liked Pokemon Contests even though it's not technically "battling".

In a game like this, the more crazy weird alternate rules available to take a break from the standard metagame the better. I wish they realized this.

Speaking of that, is Wonder Launcher still present in XY? I only had one WL battle with a friend over wifi but it was a very close battle. My Empoleon VS his Chandelure as our last Pokes, Empoleon at half health and would've been defeated by Chandelure's attack but I had enough points to give it X Special Defense 6 to allow him to survive at least 2 hits and beat Chandelure in return.

I fucking loved triple battles. Was the best way to play the PWT I found, with a full team of six v six, and you had to really plan for it.

I had a damn Aggron, Arcanine and Starmie up front, you can bet it was hard.

Seasons are kind of in. I mean theres a snow spot and a fall looking spot and you can argue a lot of spots are spring and summer so they aren't exactly over all seasons but the seasonal environments are in.

What do you do with Amie anyway? Pet them a little for the same reactions, feed them, do some head turning and minigames? I've never really bothered with Amie at all so far.

It's easy to get your affection up to max. Plus you get big benefits.

For one, higher crit rates, higher dodge rates. They break out of paralysis and confusion and such easier.

You also get different dialogue in battle and you can pet them when they KO a pokemon.

Easiest way is this: Rub them a few times til' no more hearts appear. Next, feed them the highest quality poke puffs you have, you can feed up to 5. Then play 2 minigames, they will be hungry for 5 puffs again. Rinse and repeat.

Can also do little unique things with pokemon. I know Pancham would give me a high five if I held the cursor near his hand. Not sure about others.
