Greninja also has a really good movepool and although its stat total may be lower (is this confirmed), it more than makes up for it with its stat distribution. Its stat spread is nearly identical to Starmie's.

When fully evolved, the starters secondary type is strong against the starter they were weak to, so the starters suddenly become balanced against each other. That's why I love the gen 6 starters. They're the only ones who do this.

Fighting > Dark > Psychic > repeat

Now they're doubly effective than they were pre-final evolution.

Not really, it just means they retain their resistance and gain a different effectiveness. Dual-type moves don't exist in the game. Yet.

Damn shame about Chesnaught though. Charizard X with fly / brave bird tears that guy a new asshole.

E.g. Chespin vs. Greninja

Timid/Modest is weird when he can't even learn Nasty Plot to do something about that measly SpATK, and when his movepool includes some amazing physical moves.
