Besides Legendary, its Gardevoir. Fairy helps make sure neutral defensively against Dark/Bug, makes it immune to Dragon and 4x Resist to Fighting.

It still has trace, it still has very good Special stats with average speed and now has a Mega form that gives it STAB Hyper Beam/Hyper Voice and can still check numerous types with Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, and Focus Blast.

Just cleared the fairy gym with only Fraxure. Speed + Attack + Poison Jab = GG Fairies.

Mawile, Gardevoir and probably Clefable are the only decent non-legendary fairy types.

Dragons are still king.

Though not counting legendaries, probably Gardevoir. Fairy was a damn godsend for it, it wrecks Scraftys and Dragons like no tomorrow now, and has Psychic to check Poison-types. It's Mega form is actually damn strong too.

Also probably Azumarill.

Togekiss is probably going to be the strongest Fairy type, however I honestly don't see the point in using any special sweepers aside from Gengar (possibly Mega Gengar since Shadow Tag is nasty as fuck.. Not sure if it's worth losing Black Sludge/Life Orb) considering he can learn Dazzling Gleam if you so desire.

Mega Mawile is also one of the only worthwhile megas, but it really is lacking in the speed/hp departments and could be subject to just getting OHKO'd before it gets to make use of that huge power. It has really, REALLY good typing (4 normal, 7 half, 1 quarter, 2 immunity), but I dunno how I feel about it.

Azumarill seems to be pretty good too with it's new typing, and it also now learns Play Rough.

Xerneas is definitely the strongest fairy type due to Geomancy, but it's a legendary so I dunno if you care too much about it.

Mega Gardevoir gets Pixilate and 175 SpA w/ 100 speed. But once again, why use it when you could just pick Gengar?

Garchomp can't choice without giving up outrage anymore, and if he hasn't choiced Togekiss can choice him right back.

Fairys force garchomp to carry coverage rather than sporting Swords Dance or DD, lest he be walled by some of his other potential counters.

If garchomp isn't choiced or boosted on speed, he's fodder for any greninja with ice beam, which will outspeed him.

Chomp is facing some steep competition this gen.

He outspeeds a lot of shit and can get STAB on any move he uses, putting his passable attack into the actually good range.

He'll be used to revenge kill some 4x weakness targets (like chomp), or for late-game mop-up when the remaining pokes are vulnerable enough that his STAB coverage will get the job done.

Really?SR isn't the reason Charizard was shit. It was shit before and it's shit now, even with both megas it runs.

Stealth rock is one of those moves that's good on paper but not that great in implementation. The biggest problem with it is that it has to be set up and most people who use a smogon dial a moveset don't have the predictive ability to properly set up SR.

But oh no Togekiss is shit. SR for as far as the eye can see because its instantly set up at the start of the battle and makes you invincible and has no counters.

Steel/Fairy is actually really good typing. Steel's Fighting weakness is cancelled out, Fairy's weakness to Steel and poison is cancelled out, and it gains back its resistance to dark. It also gets an immunity to Dragon. Don't know about her mega form, but I assume her normal form's base stats are still bad.

Gardevoir trades her weakness to Bug and Dark for a weakness to Poison and Steel, and gains immunity to Dragon for it. Very few mons can get STAB Poison without being weak to Physic, and there aren't a lot of Steel-type moves. I don't know about her mega form, but her normal form is still a solid special sweeper, especially with Destiny Bond >inb4 hurf durf just use Gengar or Alakazam, the two most boring and overused special sweepers in existence
