You're doing it wrong bro. Either:

>Full HP / SpDef
>Black sludge
>Toxic Spikes
>Venoshock
>Protect
>Dragonpulse

Or

>Full HP / SpAtk
>Assault Vest
>Dragon Pulse
>Sludge Wave
>Surf / Hydro Pump
>Thunderbolt

Assault vest is hype as shit for innately bulky special sweepers, but if you're going for a wall build (as I assume you are given the bred toxic spikes) then go for added tankiness and stalling. Otherwise you just aren't going to survive to do a second attack.

My Dragalge is Modest, and I gave it these EVs:
196 Sp Atk
80 Sp Def
116 Def
116 HP
It knows Thunderbolt, Hydro Pump, Sludge Bomb and some other move. I won't be using it competitively because I fucking suck at it. Just wanted to have a slightly bulky special attacker for ingame use.

it's lacking defense

i'd go with poison point because you're not physical
but it sucks to it doesn't really matter

lets you get double damage on venoshock though

How do you get a hidden ability on Dragalge, anyway? As far as I can tell, the only way to get it before was to breed a pokemon that already had it (female with the ability would pass it down a portion of the time).

Unfortunately, the nature is -SpDef +Speed. However it seems the IVs were balanced in such a way it didn't have a major impact (speed is still shit but SpDef is still awesome), and I maxed HP and SpAtk EVs.

It wrecks fairies online so, so much thanks to Assault Vest.

Actually, you need to breed it onto him. Which requires breeding it onto an omanyte first.

Omanytes can be found using rock smash, presumably on routes with water on them (just like in the other games).

152 spec attack at lv 55 seems a lot for a neutral nature
it's supposted to only have 90 base or something

not that it matters if adaptability is real because it gives a 1/3 boost to stab moves

Neutral nature? I just said it was a negative nature (Naive). Like I said, I think I just lucked out with IVs or something.

Also Assault Vest adds 50% of your special defence stat in battle, but prohibits the use of status moves. Which is crazy good on such a naturally bulky low speed spec sweeper.

Dragalge (Lead) @Black Sludge +Sp Def - Atk 252 HP And then a toss up between his Defense and sp def. He's a very durable pokemon, and has a nice spread.

Dragon Tail
Venoshock
Thunderbolt/ Scald / Protect

Actually, you're right. I literally just woke up like 5 minutes ago, my mind is a bit hazy.

And yes, mixed defense EVs, just like that. He's got surprising bulk, and a pretty cool typing to boot.

I'd lower his fourth options to Tbolt and Protect, depending on what you'd prefer. If only he learned stealth rock, he'd be my favorite lead.

Does anyone know what his special ability is yet? Adaptability would be pretty broken with Dragon Tail, Toxic spikes, and Venoshock.

As it is, Black Sludge is for all intents and purposes, a fancy Leftovers that lets you get past the item clause and essentially have two Leftovers.

It worked damn well on my SubSeed Roserade last gen.

I'd argue that having the ability to have what is essentially two sets of Leftovers on a team is a bigger positive than the chance of your opponent double Tricking you is negative.
