Just caught a shiny Azurill within the first 2 hours of playing X. First tackle was a critical that sent it plummeting into the red. Almost fucking shit myself.

I've also caught a shiny tentacool is Sapphire and Diamond, and a boldore in White 2. I actually remember getting pissed off with the wild pokemon in victory road and nearly resorting to a repel right before Boldore showed up.

Accidentally hatching this one whole randomly breeding for stuff to throw onto WT. So I guess in a way it's karma - if I'd just flung out shit I wouldn't have got it. Evolved it all the way, shiny Chesnaught is so much better than the regular.

I'm trying to breed a shiny gastly. The female is a gengar with a japanese name, but it doesn't have the foreign tag for japan. The male is a japanese Ralts, so I wasn't sure whether I'd inadvertently foiled the Masuda method by having two jap pokes. Did Gengar's nationality change when it changed hands last time?

you are very welcome! umm do you have a timid foreign ditto? other then trying to get a shiny skrelp and delphox i think im straight for now. And ill give you gentle nature- it raises his sp attack yet it lowers his def but its not like youd keep him in on physical attackers anyway. and that way you can decide wether or not to go the attack/sp attack route. im going for attack but its physical move pool is pretty lacking.

The RNG is responsible for determining whether or not a Pokemon is shiny. Now different things factor into that RNG, such as NPCs that don't follow set paths, how many steps you've taken, and how many hours you've been playing between saves, but the things we know of only apply in B/W and back. Since we can't datamine the game yet, anything at all could affect the RNG and we wouldn't know for sure.

Put simply though, if you follow some sort of pattern - repeatedly walking around a rectangular path, for example - it puts the same value into the RNG and you'll have better chances of a shiny showing up.

But that won't dramatically increase your chances or cut your time by much either. I've gone on for weeks at a time for some of the things I went after.

You're doing everything you can possibly do to make it work. Just use time to your advantage. I constantly had just talonflame and 5 eggs in my party going left and right down route 7. As soon as one hatched, I boxed it and picked up the next egg to make my party full again. It got to the point where I had an egg hatching maybe every 1.5-2 minutes.

Currently sitting at 4 shinies so far :
Drifloon, Staryu, Quagsire and minutes ago Aipom.

As for natures they have been pretty bad, only Drifloon being Timid.
As for IVs they have been bad bar Aipom that's running four 28+ stats.

Just wrapping up through 75 Absols up on the Wondertrade.

I like this better; fill up 5 eggs then idly hold left/right and browse the chan. I used to do the secont choice but it's too involved.
