So, X is my first Pokemon since gen 3.

And I have to say, jesus christ everything is different

EXP share now gives your entire team FULL exp?
Hexagonal movement?
Character customization?
400+ fucking Pokemon? Has anyone even managed to get that many?
Catching Pokemon gives you EXP now?

One of my questions is, can you catch Ghastly and Abra in X? They were always my favorite Pokemon to use as they were insanely strong in Fire-Red.

Actually, everything you mentioned except the new pokemon was just added in this gen.

And EXP share was like that in gen 1. You can turn it off in the key items list if you didn't know.

EXP share used to be you had to give it to a Pokemon to hold and that one Pokemon would gain half EXP alongside your main

But even before that:: In Generation I (called Exp. All), it shares experience gained from battle equally between all party members. These party members do not gain stat experience unless they participate in the battle.

While now it only gives half of the EXP to make it "less" broken.
Also you can catch Haunters and maybe Kadabras. I'm not sure about the second one because they're probably version exclusives.

I first thought it was as my lower level pokemon were being leveled insanely fast, but after checking the EXP meter I guess they are getting half... my hopes were raised and then dashed
