It's easier to get shinies if the parents come from different countries.

Wonder trade has made getting foreign pokes very easy.

Bit unrelated but when you get a shiny will the little pokemon icon change colour as well?

For example when you try to get the starter shiny you get the option to give it a name and it actually shows up the icon with gender of the pokemon.

If it would indicate it would be a shiny it would speed up the progress very much.

I traded out a bunch of Gravellers (without Everstones) so they'd evolve when people got them. I only got route 1 derps in return, but one guy must have felt bad because he immediately traded me and gave me the Golem back so I got the dex entry.

Sent out a box of bulbasaur and froakie yesterday, got nothing.

Just sent out a big bunch of modest ralts/mawiles/tyrunt/charmander etc. and actually got Druddigon/timid protean froakie/fennekin/level 46 timid infiltrator noibat along with the usual trash in return. I was pretty amazed actually.
