let's talk about our favorites from Gen VI and how we will incorporate them into our teams

thinking of maxing out HP and Sp. Def on this thing. it's speed is already incredible enough to leave as is

won't most people that already know it can withstand nearly all physical moves try to hit me with a special move? what would be the point? i mean, sp. def is his second best stat, hardly under his speed

really? i dont know anything about it besides its ability and speed. Was thinking you could trick something into hitting you with physical attacks sorta like skarmbliss where poodle is skarm.

as for me im gonna use a goomy with sap sipper and max out sp attack. maybe sp def too? goodra gets boltbeam and draco meteor

just a heads up since I have read some of the previous threads like this:

Investing in HP gets you generally more bang for your buck than investing in a specific defense stat with no HP alongside, for example a skrelp with

is going to do better than
>252 spA/252 spD

unless you're using something like leech seed, or need a specific HP stat to make 4 substitutes, et cetera. There used to be a calculator floating around that would show you how to best maximize a mon's bulk with remaining EVs but I doubt it would work for X/Y anyway

What would be best for a Clauncher, besides SP Atk? Throwing EVs on any defense, or HP? Or maybe speed? (I'd doubt it, since it isn't a fast mon).

Its base DEF is actually pretty shitty. Yeah it's doubled by its ability, but without some EVs, it'll still fall pretty quickly. DEF and HP for a pure physical tank (that can still take a few special hits), or DEF and SP.DEF for a mixed tank that specializes in physical with Cotton Guard.
