im sure youve gotten many threads about this, but i searched around and didnt find one currently..

are these new pokemon games good for first time pokemon players? or should I try the older ones first?

I have no experience with them. are they all one story? can I pick up any of them?/ pretty much, how does a first timer get into the series this late in the game.
