It was better than Ash's episodes, but overall ends up being a 6/10 series due to lack of adventures and smooth battles. It doesn't raise gradually into acts 1,2,3 it feels too much like the game, as opposed to narrative.

Even anime Ash laughs at pokemon types. There was this one episode where the kid was playing the pokemon game on his computer, and in real battle he got his ass kicked by a type which was suppose to be at disatvantage.

The early pokemon movies are miles better than it.

What Origins needed was actual adventure like shown in your picture...of course they just had to skip over it like douches.
And when they do slow down the episode like lavender town they don't do anything interesting with it, that episode should have contained more ghost type battles and other sub-plots.
