Is it possible to trade a mon from Gen I all the way to Gen VI?

I know you could do cross gen trading in some of the earlier games and it was easier when the DS came out, but I've wondered if I could bring my original Blastoise from Blue into X somehow. I know there are easier ways to get a Blastoise but I just want it for sentimental value
