Is Gale Wings Talonflame really that good? I've heard people saying solid UU with some niche in OU. I'd love to have a bro have some competitive merit, and priority Flying seems pretty sweet even with his lowish offense stat.

I would think U-Turn or Roost would be better than Tailwind, and Steel Wing hits Rocks but I'm not sold on it. I would also think LO and BB are preferable to Acrobatics shenanigans, more consistent damage and you'll either live hard and die young or go with priority Roost if you think you can stick around to keep kicking. Supposedly T-flame is surprisingly good all around, which is awesome. Was afraid no bird would escape Staraptor's shadow but this guy seems unique and useful. Not to mention relentless.

Now that Steel doesn't resist his Ghost STAB, I think it's a good idea. Poison has good neutral coverage, so paired with Ghost he can hit most things for neutral STAB damage.

In fact, the only things that resist his STABs are Bisharp, Tyranitar, Sableye, Spiritomb, Skuntank, Drapion, Krookodile, and Diggersby.

Even not considering them, I would tend to avoid reliance on Focus Miss if possible. I would rather keep Mega Gengar to switch in and trap something later than risk that 70 accuracy too often.

It is pretty much a less specialized Shuckle. Sacrificed some bulk to make its other stats less shitty. The differences in movepool will be the real deciding factor, though.

the steel weakness is going to keep it out of OU now that dragons might run Iron Head or something to deal with fairies, in addition to scizor pulling out the stab tech bullet punches. I don't know how often bronzong and jirachi will be used now that they're weak to ghost/dark this gen but they can pull out gyro ball/iron head too. also even lesser used, metagross

I would assume Shadow Sneak is a must. Do you build him physical with water shuriken as well? He's fast as fuck and can change his type at well

you only use shadow sneak to get a KO, you retard. Otherwise you use sacred sword (I actually like Iron Head better in that slot). Or boost with swords dance to remain in shield form, THEN get a OHKO with shadow sneak

going second and getting a 2HKO where the second hit is shadowsneak, is no different than going second and getting a OHKO. and youll still be in shield form when taking hits

Why not? STAB U-Turn with 120+ base speed? Plus allowing you to switch into another guy with good bulk or resistances?

Remember, greninja is fragile. Protean is not really made to tank, it's made more for 100% STABs
