I posted this in /v/ but got raped, because I didn't know this board existed. So anyway;

I know there's already a discussion going on, but it's centered around X&Y, and with good reason I assume.

I'm asking because I owned blue version way back in like '98 or some shit.. then when I was in Afghanistan in '10, my whole platoon started playing heartgold and soulsilver to pass our off time and started to bet on our battles with guard shifts and care packages, and it was fun as shit.

Realizing how much fun I had playing it a few years ago, I'm looking to get back into playing it. But, having only played blue and heartgold, I'm not sure what the deal is with the other gens. I seem to have seen good things about black and white? So which is best? I was planning on X&Y, but just started thinking about it and figured I'd ask over here.
