Got its health into the red and tossed three ultra balls at it. I was a little surprised.

The battle with Lysandere was harder, but that's only because his Meinshao destroyed half my team.

If Xerneas is anything like the more recent gen mascots, it should actually have a pretty tame catch rate, like 70, as opposed to something that actually requires you to get it into the red and sleep it and chain it down hard, like 3 (God damn you, Metang!).

Lugia and Ho-oh had catch rates of 3, and Groudon and Kyogre had catch rates of 5.
Palkia and Dialga had catch rates of 30.
Reshiram and Zekrom had catch rates of 45.

I wonder what they increased it to this time.
