I'm using pokemon I like, but I'm also EV training the ones I know I'm going use for the remainder of the game because it does make them considerably better.

Using Pokemon you like, but minmaxed, in the post game and online

This is the correct way to play. Unless you enjoy playing other ways, then the correct way to play is however you choose to play.

Using pokemon you like and EV training aren't mutually exclusive, you can EV train a Magikarp.

I only use pokemon I like. I just happen to like a lot of pokemon that are fantastic stat wise. I also do the super training, since I like my pokemon to be in tip-top shape.

I do this too. I have a team from each gen, made up with brand new pokemon from each gen with the exception of gen 3. I have a Muk in that team.

K this is my Gen 1 team from firered. It's currently sitting on white waiting for the pokebanl to launch.

Can someone explain how I can get my post-game (beat E4 once) B/W pokes into X and Y? I've never done transfers or anything like that but I'd love to see my old buds again in 3D.

I started like that, but since they make it easier to know what natures do, I have been aiming for "decent natures" for pokes I want to use, or one of a kind pokes.

Been doing a little EV training, nothing maxed out yet, still taking random EVs from other battles.

Just got costal Pokedex. Might do some EV training now...
