There's so many references to the older (and next) generation games it's unbelievable. There was something in Lumiose City in the Newspaper offices about a note written by the director who has been gone for a long time. I think it said something about hunting for a legendary in the mountains.

no, the souvenir is a white mask given by a guy from an other region that says that his region is beautiful and that he isn't either from kalos, hoenn, kanto, johto, sinnoh and unys.

Yes - but it has to be on the game already, since Masuda has stated he likes everything on the cartridge itself.
