Life isn't fair and there are naturally going to be more males in some areas. So no one is saying the number should be the same.
In fact, I don't think I've seen any female blackbelts in X or Y. Is that unfair or sexist?
I'm not sure what you're even linking my opinion to as being "identical".
The game had no female champions for three generations--so what? We weren't able to play as a girl until Crystal. I had to go through Blue, Yellow, and Silver as a boy, even though I really wanted to be a girl.
But I still played it because it was Pokemon and I loved it. I understood that, at the time, Pokemon was more marketed towards males, as most vidya games were.
(I know, there was artwork of a girl character in the R/B/G days and it's said they originally planned to include a girl option, but there was a data space or time issue.)
