GF has a habit of adding features in games as prototypes and expanding on them in future installments. Does anything stick out in XY?

A lot of the game feels this way, amie, power training, the whole 3D engine, giving Pikachu an actual voice.

It reminds me of playing Assassin's Creed. First one was ok, but it felt more like a prototype after playing 2, same feeling I get when I play 3, feels like it's just a dry run for 4.

Actually, what if next gen the characters are partially voiced like in Zelda? No fully voiced dialogue but they make noises and shit. Keep the Pokemon sounding like Pokemon though.

They usually keep Japanese voices because there's little use in redubbing people go "AHH" and "OOH".

I have faith in a dub though. This is the Pokemon games so we're not gonna get a shitty dub.

Pokemon XY 2/Pokemon Z will have:

Mega Evolution.
It's brought up so much in the plot, they make such a big deal about it, and then you can't even get the majority of megas until post game.
I didn't even use a Mega for the entire game because all the ones I want to use are post game.
Also the plot is a little silly. They act like Mega is some big mystery, but everyone already seems to know all about it and all you gotta do is ask a dude.
It furthers my theory that all the adults in pokemon are assholes and the entire pokedex journey is some elaborate scheme to fuck with kids.

Yea, I can see them expanding the plot with AZ's story. It seemed sort of out of left field, especially the "ending". I really wanted to know more about that guy, and knowing Gamefreak, we won't get the full story until the inevitable Pokemon Z.

I also think it's safe to assume there will be some alt forms for certain Pokemon. Zygarde is a weird one, to say the least. I can see him getting an alt form. And for some reason, I also see the Legendary Bird Trio getting some alt forms or something.

Aren't they counterparts? Why does only one seem to exist in this universe unless some clone of you from another dimension sends you one? I'm sure the plot of X/Y will be completely irrelevant once they make Z though.
Wouldn't it be cool if instead of a new game, it was a DLC expansion that made your game into XZ or YZ version?

I'm hoping at least the important trainers have CG models. It's depressing how the gym leaders and Elite 4 lack them; even the champion. It's like in BW only a few characters had moving sprites.

I really want there to be 3D models for every trainer, it would be much more intense if every battle had an animation of them throwing a pokeball, reacting with shock/anger/sadness when one of their pokemon faints and then ferociously throwing out another pokemon with an "I CHOOSE YOU ______" every time. Gym Battles even moreso could have stuff like when a critical/super move hits one of their pokemon, a little triangular window (think something manga/animesque) pops out from the upper left and shows the trainer reacting with shock during those important battles. I think little things like this, if implemented so it's not overly distracting, would really add a sense of thrill to the games and more personal connection/achievement with battles.

Sky Battles will definitely be out.
Those things were silly, the trainer even has to politely ask you if you want to battle, and only certain Pokemon can join in. I only player Wonder Launcher once with a friend in BW, but it wasn't too bad. Too bad it got removed, but at least Rotation Battle still exists.

The whole system of sky battles is retarded. They should just make battles dynamically become sky battles when the field has flying/levitating pokemon in play, and it can return to the ground when one is switched out for something else

The berry system is neat, riding Pokémon is interesting and inverse battles are sweet!
