Can we talk about Mega Mawile movesets? Do we know its base stats? I keep hearing its base attack is ~100, but with huge power it gets boosted to something absurd. I was thinking something along the lines of Jolly nature, 252atk/252spd (depending on base speed, not sure if this is worth pumping)/6hp, with a moveset like Sucker Punch, Iron Head, Stone Edge, and Ice Fang. Iron Head is self-explanatory, Sucker Punch to hit fast threats, Stone Edge and Ice Fang for type coverage. The hardest part about it would be getting Ice Fang, since it's an egg move.

single bump, then I guess I'll pack it up and head for Smogon.

I caught a Mawile with Brave nature, is that good or bad?

Mega is still 50 base speed, sorry.

>>14779207 It's not the best. The best would be adamant, since Mawile shouldn't be using any special moves.
However, as
>>14779217 indicated, Mawile's speed already sucks really bad, so brave isn't the worst.
Man, that's really depressing to hear. I wonder if, with it's improved typing, it's worth using at all. If only it had access to agility, or autotomize.

You do not want to pump speed at all. Hell, you might even want to 0 IV it and use it in Trick Room.
252 HP/252 ATK/4 SpD is the way to go.
Swords Dance/Iron Head/Play Rough/Sucker Punch is a good moveset. If you want, you could use Ice Punch (Gen V move tutor) whenever Pokemon Bank comes out in place of something.

>>14779441 Speaking of trick room, I have this adamant mawile. Should I just give up on trying to get one with better speed and use it in case I want to use it in a TR team or run into one?

>>14778871 I don't know why you wouldn't use Swords Dance. Then turn you get when switching in with Intimidate should be enough to net you a switch and a free +2 to your monstrous attack. +2 Adamant Sucker Punch OHKO's Garchomp of all things, and if people are so afraid of your Sucker Punch then you smack them with Iron Head. That's my two cents.
Also, unrelated, but can I add you? I really want a Chansey Safari. Mine has Breloom, if you're interested.

>>14779441 >Swords Dance/Iron Head/Play Rough/Sucker Punch This is what I did except I replaced Swords Dance with Power-Up Punch.
Was that a good idea?
>>14779497 It's really a non-issue.

>>14779497 Speed doesn't really matter on Mawile and if you're going Adamant it can be what the fuck ever, if you're using it for Trick Room though you want +Atk -Spe and 0 IVs definitely. The IVs on the one you have look really good so if you don't want to breed any more stick with it.
>>14779581 Power-Up Punch is so weak that it's not worth using over Swords Dance, as you'll end up doing more damage with doubled attack and a higher BP move anyways.

>>14779648 I've been MMing the whole time too. 6 boxes at the moment. Got that one and a similar one with 1 sp.def less and slightly more speed on box 5. Maybe I'll use it to try and make a bold one after I get power items, and also make one with speed for the heck of it?
Also I need the ability capsule for that one because it has hyper cutter... Kanji (Chansey) 4184 2493 5600
>>14779533 Yeah, if you're still here. Sorry, I went to get something to eat. Can Mawile even learn SD? That'll change up the moves for sure. What do you get rid of, though? I think the thing Mawile is most scared of is a fast sweeper with a fire move. Would you ditch Ice Fang? How do you deal with dragons/ground types then? Don't you think his base atk + huge power is enough already?

>>14780427 Yeah, I have it. I was just overestimating exactly how shitty its movepool is. I still don't know what other move to give up though.
Kanji (Chansey) 4184 2493 5600
>>14780512 I also forgot that Mawile picked up a nice fairy physical move, which solves dragon type coverage, but still leaves him naked to STAB earthquakes, like Tyranitar, Donphan, etc. Seems like Mawile really just wants that 5th moveslot.

>>14780358 I would go with Swords Dance/Iron Head/Play Rough/Sucker Punch. And no, I don't think it's enough since you need to be OHKOing everything you can -- it also adds much more pressure. You can deal with dragon/grounds with the coverage you have already from these moves. Maybe Steels will pose a problem, but eh, they can be dealt with by something else.
Also, FC's in the name field. Thanks!
