What is the preferred build for this Ghost with the Most right here?
From what I hear, it's Brave, 252 in ATK and HP, sword dance, shadow sneak, ironhead, and the fourth don't matter.

I feel like part of that is BS.
How do you train yours?

Do you really want Shadow Sneak? That means that if the enemy somehow survives (focus sash etc) you're going to tank a hit in Blade Form and die instantly.

Considering Sword's Dance, but taking any of these out is detrimental. You definitely need King's Shield to stay alive with Shield Stance.

Shadow Sneak is extremely detrimental to Aegislash's playstyle, leaving him completely vulnerable to your opponent's attack afterwards.

You're going to be dead really quickly once you go into Blade Forme. Shadow Sneak at least ensures that you kill things.

Because. It switches forms when it uses moves.

It switches to Shield form with King's Shield, a priority move.

With slow speed, it will act second normally. It takes a hit in shield form and laugh, switch to blade form and wreck.

Shadow Sneak is not detrimental to his play style. A lot of pokemon can be 2HKO'd with a combination of Sacred Sword followed by Shadow Sneak. This lets you kill pokemon without taking damage. Also, a TON of pokemon are just flat out OHKO'd by +2 Shadow Sneak, which again lets you kill without taking damage.

Fighting has better SEs than Steel.

The argument is that shadow sneak will put you in blade form, while using a slow attack will let you take the hit in shield form.

Has much as people are bragging about his overall defense, he can't take super effective moves more than once.

You have to swords dance at least once to start OHKO'ing anything and shadow sneak will knock out just about anything that is weak against ghost, so taking damage after shadow sneak isn't a concern IMO.

Knight's Shield

I prefer this build so far. Considering changing Sacred Sword though.

Any time, just be sure to remember and go back to relearn Sacred Sword and Knight's Shield from the move relearner. If you don't have a lot of heart scales, wait for Sacred sword and follow up by learning knight's shield immediately.

He has way too many weaknesses to run a defense build IMO. It's worth a shot, but I would imagine that he still gets 2 shot by anything that he is weak against.

nah. It all comes down to predicting. It's essentially rock papers scissors. King's Shield beats Shadow Sneak, Shadow Sneak beats Swords Dance, Swords Dance beats King's Shield. The only time Brave is better is when they're both at +4 attack and they both Shadow Sneak.

I'm running Adamant with EVs in HP and attack. Right now I'm running Shadow Claw, Sacred Sword, Swords Dance, and King's Shield. This seems like the safest option for now.

I have considered running Autotomize and using its defense just to get it fast enough to out speed things, then hit things for massive damage once I get 3x or 4x speed. I could potentially run an extra move for coverage, but I guess I'd still want King's Shield to call out priority moves.

not a good idea. Without Swords dance, Aegis can't OHKO much that it hits neutrally, and it doesn't have that good super effective coverage.

Make it hold Weakness policy

Look at the graph in Super Training. If you want exact numbers, save and use a reset bag. It'll tell you exactly what its EVs were before it resets.

Battles usually go something like this:

Get hit (shield stance) > Attack > Kings shield (back to shield stance) > Nothing. > Get hit > Attack

If things go well you should be shield stanced whenever you get hit. You'll get fucked up on special attacks.

Does Protect make Aegislash return to Defense Forme?
Might be worthwhile choice between King's Shield if it does.
Attack protection + Enemy debuff VS Attack protection + Status protection.
Taunt fucks him sideways for either one though.

By punching an empty bag, it's pretty rare but shouldn't take too long to get one. Use dudes that are happy (wake em up) and you'll get bags faster.

Max EVs for a pokemon and Super Secret Training will open up.

The Aegislash event needs to be completed in under 30 seconds to get the Dusk Stone.

I would normally agree, but that involves a crazy amount of prep to just start breeding properly.

Don't you have to have a ditto of every nature to make things easier? I don't have the patience to catch that many dittos when the encounter rate is lower than past generations.

I've been trying it and I'm honestly not sure if it's having an effect or not, partly because critical hits and pokemon not being able to take two hits for me to compare fairly.
Or do status changes remain at attack, defence or whatever even after form change.

Shadow sneak is used because it lets you sacred sword then follow up into it.

It also means you don't have to burn turns on king's shield if you were using claw.

Doesn't matter, King's shield puts it into shield mode, which means no damage.

Also note that stance change WILL occur if you are Sleeping, Full Paralyze, Flinched, or otherwise rendered incapable of using the move.

The form change.

If he goes first, he's in attack form and gets wrecked by the counterattack.

But if he's in defensive form taking the hit first he takes laughable damage, then does the same great damage on the hit back.

Depending on the blaziken's moveset, he might not have a special move.

If he has protect or swords dance or some such, he can use that as he tries to predict the timing of king's shield. If he fucks up, king's shield will gimp his attack.

Breeding is easier this gen. It's actually easy as piss.

Get a person with ditto in friend safari. Catch dittos until you have ones with 31 in each IV (every friend safari pokemon has 2 stats with 31, so it shouldn't take more than 10 dittos)

Load up each ditto with a 31 in a stat with the power item that corresponds.

Chain breed egg moves into a male of the species of the thing you want.

Breed that with a ditto that has an IV perfect that you want till you get a male, it WILL have that perfect IV.

Then you get a ditto with another IV you want perfect and breed it until you get a female.

Then you give that male and female the appropriate choice items and breed them together, to get a pokemon with all the egg moves you wanted and 2 perfect stats that you wanted and only have to breed for gender, nature and ability.

well yeh, that's why you don't leave it out against a special sweeper. It's like any other one attribute wall.

or instead of giving it attack, you can make it Sassy and give it 252 SpD evs.

after that it has 216 SpD. A wall that cripples physical sweepers isn't bad, though.

Shadow Sneak is always a good thing to have. So you can get get that last hit in before dying or even pick off a a pokemon with a stab priority move.

Heck, you can even work towards getting full 31s in your thing if you go and continue from there.

Create two of them with different 31 EVs

Power item, and then keep rolling until you get one with 3-4 perfect ivs, then replace one of the parents.

You continue to do this until you get one with perfect IVs.
