No, I meant ingenuity, because "artistic licence" usually means diapers and bad deviantart tracing

Perhaps it's subjective ingenuity, Red is a better character fleshed out this way imo

well again it's subjective, but i still wouldn't call making someone's hair darker inventive, creative, imaginative, original (especially if everyone's doing it), innovative, resourceful, enterprising, insightful, inspirational, perceptive (why did you put the same word twice in different forms?), intuitive, artistic or genius (couldn't think of proper adjectives for flair or finesse). artistic licence is just the artist taking a liberty with a pre-existing character, world etc. i have no idea where you're getting the deviantart shit, unless you're referring to how awful they make other people's things.

i will concede giving him a more fleshed out character is a bit better, but not if everyone gives him the same attributes

Because he's a silent protagonist, vulnerable to fantastical self-insertion. Everybody wants him to be a badass because they /are/ him and they want to be badasses.

Also he was eleven in RBY, fourteen in GSC, and somewhere over sixteen in BW2. It's more than sixteen, but the only official increments we've been given are three (between RBY and GSC) and two (between BW and BW2). BW is commonly agreed to have happened three-six years after GSC/DPPt, because the Rocket Grunt who speaks in broken English has raised a child to the point of speaking fluent English.

In G/S, I think it was GF's depiction of Red being silent and using black as his hair color due to limited colors at the time.
Plus he was just sitting in a cave, which is kinda strange.

Even without the fanart, I always viewed him as a silent badass

The only thing fanart ever gets RIGHT is the fact that the original Red had black hair. Where it goes wrong is when artists decide to go '3edgy5me' by making his hair longer than it actually is and giving his eyes a red coloration for some retarded reason.

How does it disagree? He remains silent.

Unless you're referring to his team, in which case they deliberately picked ambiguous Pokémon (all four starters) or Pokémon you were given/forced to encounter in the game (Espeon/Lapras/Snorlax). That's the closest they could come in that regard.

Red is more his own character than literally every other protag in the entire main series.

I agree with some of your points, but stand by my own opinion that he was as much you as they could have made him while keeping him in the series.

Imagine if there had been a feature that took record of your Hall of Fame team from RBY, should you have played it, though. How could would that have been?

It could have been possible in GSC as well, as evidenced by Cal in that battling place in Viridian, who took upon himself the team of the last person you battled (maybe traded as well?) with.

It would have been even simpler in HGSS, requiring only the condition that your FRLG cart be in the GBA slot of the DS, as well as having the possibility of being Leaf instead. If they wanted to it could have even been Brendan/May, should you have had an RSE cart in the slot.
