Pokemon is one of my favorite series. I only shittalk about Gen III/IV because I think they were bad in comparison to the others.

If you mean from the main series, then truly none are that bad.
However, some of them are just better in every way than others.
For instance, if you have not played gen IV yet, then I'd say just get platinum and skip over D and P.
Same for Emerald, in Gen III.

Disregarding the main series, the TCG for game boy sucked ass and I hated it.
Also, I'm not a big fan of pinball games.

it felt really fucking dated after gen 3 and 4, the graphics only made it worse by contrast. johto feels half-finished and kanto feels like purgatory.

I have enjoyed all main series games, but Diamond and Pearl are easily my least enjoyable by far. All others I have reset my game to replay it at least once (already have for X, too, though that's because I wanted to stay paced with my friends this time around)
With Diamond and Pearl nothing about the region stood out to me, other than the addition of two Eevee evolutions. I'll probably skip the Sinnoh remakes unless if they put something spectacular in them.

Personally, the gen v games were the only main series games that I couldn't enjoy. They felt so stale and boring. The story was atrocious, I hated how the map was just a straight line that offered little exploration and there were only a handful of new pokemon introduced that I liked.

None, at a push I'd say B/W because I feel it was certainly the weakest in the series but then if I recommend BW2 as being better it makes little sense without BW in context, especially considering it's a sequel.
