I don't know, but someone else saw Tierno in their passerby list. Maybe NPCs just show up sometimes.

You can change it to an NPC.

But I saw Sycamore once, and Drayden I think, and I have Shauna in my acquaintances.
can you change your NPC to main characters?

Oh yeah, by the way, I just challenged this guy to a battle.

Turned out to be a female character, and a pretty awful one, considering their Lucario had nothing to hit my Venusaur with but fighting attacks.
