Is Pokemon X/Y for real? Moments out of the first town, you're given speedshoes, a device that makes pokemon that didn't fight gain XP anyway, and you gain XP even when you catch a pokemon.

It's honestly kind of insulting how easy this shit is.

one of the biggest complaints about pokemon is the breeding grind.
This gen they took HUGE steps to make it easier.
Massive Xp boosts
Destiny Knot IV boost
Super Training and Horde EV boost
Easier Shiny catch rate
etc.

At it's heart, pokemon has always been a game for both casuals and competitive players. In previous gens they were kept seperate. But with this gen they are trying to streamline mechanics to allow casuals into more parts of the game.

Except you can.
Go to tool items, click EXP Share, and turn it off.
You'll go back to the normal way of EXP only for those in battle split evenly.

What I meant was there's no exp share HOLD ITEM, so I can't raise just one weak pokemon while using another, and instead exp is getting spread around to everyone instead of just the two I want.

It's to make endgame training significantly easier as well.

You could probably train 8 pokemon or so to 100 in X and Y in the time it took you to train 1 or 2 Pokemon to 100 in Red and Blue.

Changes that reduce grind time do not make the game easier because grinding has never been hard. It requires no thought and you can't lose XP by doing it wrong.
The concept of leveling up is an artifact from the first computer RPGs copied tabletop games which are completely different. You try playing any edition of D&D and saying "I walk in circles until a monster appears", see what happens. You do not fight just to level up. You fight because your character has a reason to fight, because it's part of the story, and levels are your reward for taking risks. Video games have corrupted that, and you've internalized the trope to the point where you think you deserve XP for one-shotting trash mobs for ten hours straight. Can't you see grinding is the lowest form of gaming? Hell, at least with shit like Angry Birds there's a possibility of developing actual skill.

I turned off the XP share the minute I got it. I have no idea where all you guys are getting so much free XP from, I fought the 6th gym (level 40's) with five mid 30's Pokemon and came out with an easy win despite never using a Poison or Steel type move. I've been underleveled compared to what should be easy trainers on various routes - in general my Pokemon are usually a level or two higher than the surrounding wild Pokemon.

I'd really like to see how these "level 90's before E4" are playing, because I don't see that happening at all in my game.

The Hold item would be useless now. Any pokemon that battles gets full EXP instead of splitting it between the participants. If you want to train just 1, do the classic swap trick.

What? Gym Leaders never have a full team when you first fight them. Go rematch them if you want a full-fledged battle.

I have spent about 3 hours in super training if not more just so I can turn on EXP share.
I still have to super train my adamant Charmander before I can...that's my stupid goal today...then I can continue playing GDI.
Exp share sends EV'S to all your Pokemon in your party and completely fucks up your end goal,

Part of it is the shitty movesets so many of my pokemon have until high level or due to a lack of TMs available to me.

At least Pangoro is getting better now that he has Shadow Claw. I may give him Infestation (He can learn it because he has fleas, I guess? I dunno.) just for more type coverage.

It was around the ice cave and whatnot. I just went through avoiding trainers and running from encounters and skipping extra areas that I could find TMs in etc

Use a flare bag first, or just wait till one of them is energetic and beat the shit out of the plain bag. Discard the bags that aren't Flare / Reset bags. You can even do this as the same time as breeding.

You'd be overleveled a bit, but nowhere near "Level 90 by Elite 4" levels. I did a solo-Venusaur run of LG a while back because I needed a Gen III Aerodactyl, and I was only ten or fifteen levels above them. It was fairly tough towards the end, especially since I decided that saccing trash for Revive turns would be cheating and boxed everything else. A similar run of XY would be an absolute cakewalk, oneshotting near everything.

I'm more upset by the lack of legendary encounters. After the previous games and this being the first 3DS game, there's no excuse other than "we want people to use the pokebank". There's only 7 legendary encounters, 6 per game.

I love the exp share. There are 700+ pokemon now, so evolving them all to get their pokedex data takes a ridiculously long time. With the exp share now you can put 5 in your party with a level 100 EV trained badass and rub through the E4 and their usually evolved at least once.
If you don't like the exp share, you can turn it off.

The reason I mentioned it was because I turned mine off, Rotated mons around in my party, and through my party. I ended up at or below the level of randoms for the majority of the game. Glad you showed how socially retarded you can be on the internet though.

With some of the shit that they did in the previous gen, I can't really say for sure there won't be any. But I will say that I really feel like there would have been some kind of hints by now. Only thing we have is the ticket for some unknown area. Tops, maybe 1 hidden poke which still puts it at an abysmal 7 legendaries and 6 per game.

This kind of Exp. Share should have been introduced earlier. It eliminates one of the worst, most tedious, most mind-numbingly boring elements of the series, and the very fact that you would hate it for that reason makes you a faggot of the highest caliber.

A held Destiny Knot makes five rather than three IVs be passed to the child. Some reports also claim that if the partner is also holding a power item, then all five are guaranteed to be from the knot-holder, meaning that you'd essentially be able to add a a perfect IV in a single egg each generation, but I'm kind of doubtful.
