I don't understand how Feraligatr is bad. H'es not better than Blaziken and Infernape but he holds his own in OU better than any other starter. Also Dragon Dance.
I have to agree with your gen 3 remark.
Same with gen 4...Empoleon sucks in game and has horrid weaknesses in the metagame, Torterra has very minimal usage itself in the metagame as well. Still gen 4 is the gen well all the starters can technically work in the OU metagame since gen 1, especially Empoleon if you have him switch into Choiced dragons.
I can agree on gen 5...until Serperior got Contrary.
Yeah Gen 6 starters kinda suck...their DW abilities are all shit except Froakie who is to frail to make use of it. Froakies pretty much another Sceptile, decent stats terrible movepool. Chesnaught would've been good if spiky shield did more damage, I thought it was gonna be a move that did 70 base grass damage when contact was made, sadly he's not really that good especially with that 4x weakness to flying.
