>>14819202Supposing it came to hostilities, zerg rush our allies in Asia-Pacific, make their top military leaders train their troops, and proceed to rule the world, since you KNOW our leaders wouldn't be able to move fast enough to the support of Australia, Japan or South Korea due to politicking and whining about goverment spending.
But as it won't because the Chinese goverment knows Russia would beat on them after Russia realizes all of Europe would come after them if they didn't intervene... Well they can basically make the developing Asian economies, and eventually Japan and South Korea come to them for the sorts of trade that America gets with Europe, simply because of all the countries indebted to them. Really, if it weren't for Russia breathing down their neck, China would very likely be THE world power instead of the US.
This is why the TPP pact is so important and why I'm pissed about the government shutdown- because of it, Obama wasn't able to go to the discussion of TPP and Kerry had to go in his place, which wasn't a very good show of respect to the other nations as their leaders all showed up. We very well could have lost face in that agreement, and so our push to make copyright law a part of the agreement to prevent copyright violations by overseas companies selling things in America would not be considered. Then, American companies who are so obsessed with copyright law would refuse to abide by TPP, making America's relevance in the Asia-Pacific dwindle. This is a bad thing because it's one of the quickest growing economies in the world, and could help bring in money to aid OUR economy.
I mean at least Canada, Japan and Mexico's leaders showed up so they were able to push the copyright part of the bill, but they don't have as much sway in the developing part of the Asia-Pacific as China or the US.
