So I've been playing Pokemon since the first generation, but I was never any good. I would play to beat the Final Four and once the credits rolled that was about it.

The last few games I've played through and I'm starting to take an interest in getting better at the game and I'm trying to understand things better.

So, I have a few questions I hope you all can help me with.

My instinct tells me it's best to have a team of maybe three Pokemon of different types with a good range of moves between them to get through the game with another one or two Pokemon just for using HMs. Is this a good idea?

I missed getting the WiFi event Pokemon from Black/White 2. Can I never get one now?

I find the concept of EVs, IVs, and breeding to be very overwhelming. Can someone explain these to me like I'm five?
