so what's a good moveset for this guy, I was thinking of running toxic just to get a bunch of resistances hand, can't think of any steel special moves he could learn though

I think its important to cover your own weakness with the protean coverage.

For example extrasensory can offset your weakness to fighting.

It's only 10 more bp you should probably wait till more egg moves have been discovered so you aren't constantly breeding

keep thinking maybe I should switch in extrasensory or shadow sneak because then he can spin block

does he get STAB on the turn he uses a different type of move?

ie: originally WTR/DRK uses shadow sneak = STAB?

Yes, he changes type when it's his turn to attack and he declares an attack, then protean triggers, then the attack actually happens.

I just tried out Mat block, an ability he learns from move relearner. It's a protect for all allies that doesn't block status attacks. It seemed to be hilariously overpowered in Triples, first turn Mat block to allow you to set up Sword/dragon dances in peace and then proceed to wipe out the opponent.

Surf, Ice Beam, Grass Knot, Dark Pulse @ Life Orb

Don't waste time with non-damaging moves. Protean is so good you want to take full advantage of it. This set pretty much gets STAB on 4 moves.

I'd replace Dark Pulse with U-turn

You'll want a move to get out of dodge in case they throw out a guy you can't kill in one hit.

Alright guys, Ive been breeding for a shiny Modest Protean Froakie, with perfect IV's in SP Attack and Speed. Should I switch over to trying for a timid one? Also, does anyone have a female Froakie with perfect IV's in SP Attack and Speed, since this Ditto does not want to transfer over both stats, even with the Destiny Knot.
