Just bred this Brave, Shiny Honedge.
Does anyone happen to know what moves it learns? Should I stall the evolution to Doublade or to Aegislash for them?

it already has Swords Dance and Shadow Sneak.
So all you need is Sacred Sword and King's Shield, both are thought by the move relearned as Aegislash I think

Only King's Shield is taught by the relearner. Doublade learns Sacred Sword at level 51.

It learns Iron head as Doublade in the 40's and Sacred Sword at level 51, then you have to use move relearner to get King's shield once you turn it into Aegislash.

So is there any reason to use Aegislash over Doublade? It seems like your trading something with reasonably high attack and defense and a decent ability for something with a gimmick ability and a gimmick attack.

Raise it until Duoblade. Keep it around until lvl 51 if you want it to learn Sacred Sword. It learns King's Shield via Move Relearner.

what is wrong with brave? All sets should be using brave if it's aegislash. Doublade has the excuse of maybe running Adamant, but it will run brave in Trick Room sets.

So you get 40 more attack and the ability to take special attacks in shield form, but you'll only be in shield form when your trying trick your opponent into making contact with your Hakumen shield move. Seems easily thwarted by anyone who knows what they're doing.

Also keep in mind that you'll need access to the move relearner and a heart scale just to get the King's Shield move. Since he starts in shield stance, I do so some merit in a strategy that uses that stance to pile on Swords Dance or Automatize boosts before attacking. But if you're in Sword stance and you aren't sweeping, you're probably dying.

Dendemille Town. Doublade learns Sacred Sword at 51, and I'm not sure if you can still pick it up after evolving, so keep that in mind.

His weakness isn't getting switched on by the 'free turns' he gives. His weakness are his weaknesses which he can't tank due to relatively low base HP and things like Unaware quagsire.
