You use a Pokemon like Reuniclus who can take a hit, hit back hard with a Life Orb STAB or whatever coverage, then if Reuniclus gets taken down, follow up with an Abuser who can use the remaining turns and still hold his own when it ends.
Pure Trick Room abuse is not particularly useful, but as an augmentation to an already solid team it becomes a versatile tool.
Though as people are saying, Malamar has potential to be the new Trick Room Reuniclus, just more physically orientated.
