God, silver was a while ago... I had an unhealthy amount of shinies in that game, my playtime must've been bonkers.

First was a staryu, then like three diglets, an onix, a geodude, and pineco.

Oddly enough
My sapphire game had one of the best glitches I'd ever seen after I got around 500 hours.
The Latias was one of my favorite pokemon, and I used it all the time.
But one day, when training a breloom to 100, I found ANOTHER latias.
It showed up in the pokedex map.
It ran away. It roamed.
I caught it, and then the map area where it was didn't disappear.

I spent the next 4 days catching up to 8 latias'.

I wonder if the glitch still works.

I've seen one shiny. Been plaing since Red and Blue. It was an Onix in Pokemon Gold. I didn't have any idea what it was at the time, I saw it do the shine animation and the noise, thought at the time it meant I would get bonus XP or something. So I killed it. Only learned what it was years later.

Haven't seen another shiny since.

I learned this with my first shiny, a caterpie in G/S/C (I had all of them, no idea which it was in). Crit with fucking tackle nearly killed it.

As far as I remember, I evolved both of them, showed them off to my friends, and then never used them in favor of leveling my Typhlosion to 100 and steamrolling everything.

I've only encountered two.

The first was in my Japanese Black ROM, it was a shiny Scraggy. HOwever, the ROM deleted itself and my little Scraggy was lost forever

The second was a shiny Snorunt in my English Black cartridge. I was hatching eggs, when all of a sudden shiny Snorunt!

Technically I've never caught a true shiny in the wild (I really don't count Scraggy), and that's after 15 years of playing Pokemon.

My second one was a shiny Girafarig female that i caught, as i learned after the shiny Gyarados thing in middle of lake it was rare shit. However, was lost due to save got overwritten by sibling.

My latest loss of shiny was on X and Y launch day where i found a female pink clothed Honedge, keep in mind i saw it directly after my first encounter with a male normal blue one, so naturally thought it just used different color on the cloth depending on gender, so just killed it for exp.
Boy did i feel retarded when i realized what i just killed after seeing another female Honedge.

First shiny I saw and caught was a Zigzagoon on Route 101.

I first didn't thought about it much until I evolved it into a Linoone. Shit's beautiful and it got even better in Gen 4 where its golden eyes become more obvious.
