Having Brave Bird would pose the risk of knockback but doing so would also open up room for all other available items. For example, even Leftovers would be nice as it would slowly heal your pokemon even while not using BB and even if you do use it the final recoil damage would be less because of that little healing.
There is also the option for berries, Choice items and pretty much everything else. You could even give it the goggles to make it ignore weather conditions.
