I'm new to breeding and MM, can you please tell me the best way to get a shiny larvitar with 5 perfect IV's?

I managed to get a Larvitar with max IV's in HP, Attack, Def, and Sp Defense. I will need to find a female / Ditto with perfect IV's in Speed.

Then, I can breed until I get a larvitar with 5 perfect IV's. From there, what can I do? If I find a japanese ditto with 3 perfect IV's and the correct nature, do I just put destiny knot on the larvitar, everstone on the ditto, and hope for the best?

Or am I better off using a 5 perfect IV larvitar / 5 perfect IV larvitar with everstone and therefore guarantee the shiny has good IVs, even though I won't be able to do MM that way?

Hey fellow breeders, did you know that about 1 in 20 people will take more than 4090 pokemon to get the shiny they've been looking for with the Masuda Method?
Just some food for thought, I mean, that 5% could be anyone. Even you.
I mean, imagine if you were breeding something like vulpix and you had to look forward to over 130 boxes. That's pretty scary.

Find Ditto with Perfect IVs in some stats
Breed it with a Larvitar while either holds a Destiny Knot. Optionally, have one hold Everstone if it has the nature you want.
Hatch and check IVs in Kiloude until one's got what you want.
Make two of it; one male, one female. Keep one, trade an EGG to someone in another country.
Have other guy send it back after it hatches.
Breed the two together til the female has the nature you want. Skip if you did Everstone earlier
Have one hold Everstone, the other hold Destiny Knot.

Keep hatching like that.

It comes down to time. You have it spot on about breeding, its literally a matter a time, and the latter method is more safe, but 4-5 times more slow. Logically the ladder half is what you want to go with if you want a shiny for global battles. But man.... after going through 30 boxes of non shinies, fucks with a guy.

I have a non-shiny Metagross and a non-foreign ditto.

Use repels, pick the patch that shakes like crazy, KO the pokemon, repeat until shiny.
Remember to have tons of pokeballs and a 'mon with false swipe. You can also go full catcher mode and get yourself a Smeargle with False Swipe, Spore, Mean Look and something to kill the non-shinies.

It doesn't matter how many eggs you hatch in a row. This has nothing to do with game mechanics.

Every INDIVIDUAL egg has the same chance of being shiny as the next.

However you get a large GROUP of eggs and the probability of one of them being shiny is a greater one despite each individual egg having the same chance.

Your odds don't go up with every egg you hatch, you just have better odds hatching a group of eggs than you do a few here or there.

sorry, but wrong. This generation all pokemon are tagged by their 3DS's region setting at the time they started the game (as in starting the adventure) so you can have a japanese game-english language selected at language select screen, and still count as foreign to england, for example. Tried and true, I have a spanish friend who set his game up in english language and his pokemon still count as foreign to my game (dex entry appears available in spanish language, even thouth he selected the english language in his game)
