It's that time again. How many times has a Blaziken swept your team? A win been lost due to a disconnection? A smogofag wrecked you or been wrecked? Come in here to talk about it all. Question: Is this guy worth using? I've seen yeas and nays across the board. In my own personal experience fighting him, I don't get too worried due to running a move that hurts him and most of my pokemon. If he is worth building, how should one do so? Secondly, is a Gardevoir worth building? I got a Modest natured one from the wonder trade, so yeah. Hate to have an opportunity go to waste. Come in here to ask for hints, help, advice, or just share some good stories.

Zig 2723-8832-2351
>>14881634 >>14881637 Okay so, I'm not a great tutorial guy, but I'll try to give you two some hints.
>You can use your favorites. My usual loadout has Flygon and Heliolisk, neither of which are considered OU tier. Flygon, while having three attacks for sweeping (EQ, Superpower, Rock Slide) also has scouting potential with U-Turn. His boosted speed lets him do that without much issue.
So, if I run into a pokemon with Flygon whom I need an extra hit with, or time, or anything really, I'll use U-Turn, then switch into Lucario. Lucario, being a steel type, is most likely resistant to what they were planning to throw at Flygon (ice, dragon, fairy). And since Flygon is usually faster, I got free damage on them. Then, can either proceed to take them out with Lucario,
OR, if Lucario is wasted, I can switch into Heliolisk, My fastest pokemon. A U-Turn wouldn't be wisely used on him, since he's so fragile. So I have to switch him in the old fashioned way, after a pokemon faints. He then has a special attacking moveset with a great spread (Dark Pulse, Thunderbolt, Grass Knot, Focus Blast) which can cover most pokemon. And he'll outspeed them, winning the match with a sweep.
Anonymous
>>14881766 You figure out how to make a team based around what pokemon you want to use, provided they're decent.
If you want to base a team around something, like spore or trick room or setting up Mega Garchomp to sweep then you just need to consider what you want that set to do and there probably won't be a ton of viable pokemon for it so you pick the best ones.

If anyone's unsure how to do it, it's not too hard: Just do a match online, let it save a battle video, then with the vs recorder, let it upload the video online to the global link thing, and then once it's uploaded and so forth, show it here. I don't EV train or really put any effort toward making a competitively-viable team, but I went into Battle Spot the other night and had some laughs from ragequitting elevens due to my Shedinja. I have a quick claw on it with phantom force and toxic, and through sheer luck I've managed to wreck some of the typical parties (Yveltal/Mewtwo/Blaziken/Charizard/Lucario/etc.) with it during the last down-to-the-wire one-on-one moments of battle, which almost always resulted in a disconnect just before faint. My favorite one was this one guy who lead with Yveltal in a rotation battle. It took out all my other Pokemon but Greninja got a toxic in on it before it went down. Shedinja was the last one left. Quick claw let it use phantom force first, causing Yveltal to miss (and hurt by toxic again), then Yveltal missed and Shedinja hit it (and it was hurt by toxic again). It was almost out and I would've lost it all if quick claw failed the next turn...which it did. But for some reason the guy thought using his own shadow force was a great idea. So Shedinja sat there while Yveltal went into the void and fainted from toxic. As soon as it fainted I got a disconnect error. Amazing.

Non-MegaWile can juggle intimidates with Sala to fuck with physical attackers. Steel/Fairy and Dragon/Flying is an almost perfect duo, resisting every single type in the game bar electric and ghost (which hit them both neutral). Salamence also lures in steel types that worry MegaWile and can decimate them with Fire Blast (eg Ferrothorn), and will also draw fairies that give MegaWile free set-up.
