So I'm kinda new to all of this and I'm trying to wrap my head around everything. There's a lot of Pokemon now and multiple games per generation and there's now six generations.

So basically each generation introduces a bunch of new Pokemon, and all of those new Pokemon are available in all of the games from that generation, but not all in one game. Each region has its own Pokedex(s), and then the National Pokedex is basically a master list.

And because every game has exclusives and not all games can transfer Pokemon on to the new games as they come out, there's a bunch of Pokemon that are basically impossible to get.

Is all of this right? I'm trying to understand all of this and I'm not sure if I'm missing anything.
