Not COMPLETELY confirmed but it seems likely given all the success people have had in it.

Could be because of the "perfect IVs" mechanic or it could check friend codes against each other.

I find hunting in the friend zone is a more effective way to find shinies, but to be fair I gave after 2 boxes of goomies that took 3 days.

Are you trying to chain off of edge tiles?

Are you going for the furthest AND heaviest bush on the field? When I say furthest, I mean furthest heaviest shaking bush, because this continues the chain, regardless if there's a medium shaking bush further from it, always get the heaviest one that is ALSO furthest, this is what breaks my chains sometimes.

Reset if you're unsure of the furthest, heaviest bush, or if you want to be super safe, reset until you see all 4 patches shake

Make sure you're listening to the sound of the rustling when activating the Radar, if it's not the heaviest version of the sound, ignore the bush pattern and reset, even if you see a heavy shaking bush. This is key.

Nathan is correct. 4 away is no longer a requirement, if a heaviest shaking bush is 3 away.

Only acknowledge the heaviest shaking bushes, and radar sounds when calculating which tile you wish to engage.

Yes, I have gotten past the point where I run into bushes that have no pokemon. I'll occasional run into the medium between loud and soft when I'm on less than 10 chain cuz fuck it, and I get the mon I'm chaining so I don't think it's that.

Unless the inbetween has a chance of being a different mon (which I was only lead to believe is a 50/50 of NOT having a mon at all.) I don't see why this would happen.

And I've gotten a different mon in what I'm certain was loudest bushes before.

I'll keep your words in mind. I generally have been going to the heaviest that's farthest, but I haven't been resetting when I don't see a heaviest and settle with the medium. Only once or twice has that screwed me over. Is that a likelihood I suppose?

There is always a small chance of it having a different mon. I am pretty sure mediums have a high chance of having a different mon as well. What I do is if I even have the slightest doubt that I dont know which bush to go into I reset. My chain got messed up 6 times before I go to 40. It just takes a lot of patience.

Always reset for the heaviest shaking and settle for nothing less, think of every generation of grass after activating a simple Cup & Ball game. Regardless of convenience of far away medium bushes, it still yields nothing, you must chain into the fastest rustling tile.

I started MMing last night, for the first time ever and ended up getting this little girl on my 80th egg. I was so stoked. Pumpkaboo is taking a little bit longer, but it'll be worth it in the end, imo.

The problem is... after my chain misteriously banished when I was already at 40 I was left with PSTD and now I try to chain the first time if I can, even if I have a little doubt I still try, the only time I reset the radar now is if I absolutely have no clue which one will chain or if OBVIOUSLY no one will chain because they didn't rustle enough

This is correct, if you arent in the middle of a chain, give this a try: Try to chain on patches that are the furthest away and shaking heavily, especially in radar generations where theyre very close to you, it should still chain.

Which patch should I chain in? Route 15 is more box-ish but smaller. Route 14 has a bigger patch but it's in a really odd shape at the bottom.

Just got my chain to 20 on pikachu using this method. Went for 3 and 4 aways of the largest shaking bush, usually vertical. It was my most successful chain so far, before this I was following D/P/P rules and wasn't getting past 10. I think I would have made it to 40 if I didn't get to excited and run straight down into a quiet bush... I knew the fucking thing was there too I was just clumsy. So for those of you that have succesfully MMed a shiny, when it hatched, was the sprite that appeared on screen shiny, or do you have to confirm it on the Summary screen.

Ive heard that it doesnt make the shiny noise, and I was wondering if that was because the game uses a default sprite/model for the hatch movie.

Also, do the sprites on your party screen show the shiny pokemon? Or is it the default sprite, then you can see the shiny once again on the summary screen.

Well something that can raise the heating bill quite a bit, but really helps is an electric blanket. I have a really soft one, it is amazing but can run up the electric bill so I just use it on really cold nights that I stay up.
That handwarmers may or may not work. More expensive ones work better, cheapo ones work okay though.

Or just stay under a normal blanket. Make yourself a blanket fort!
