Haunter's idle animation is floating. Gengar's is not. That's the reason behind all the "why can't this flying pokemon participate in sky battles" nonsense; they couldn't be assed to create separate idle animations for in the sky versus on the ground.

I'm glad you can fight the sky battles and be done with them, as opposed to the inverse battles which you can do once a day. Those are INFINITELY more fun and nowhere near as frustrating.
