This thing has a pretty abysmal movepool. You can also run flying gem and acrobatics if you don't want to go man mode max recoil build.

It's not so abysmal when it's got everything it needs...
I'd really go for Acrobatics/Flare Blitz/Roost/U-Turn btw.

Also for the love of god invest a bit more into Speed!

Why? With its like 125+ base speed and reliance on recoil moves and PRIORITY FLYING MOVES what do you really need that bonus speed for? I'd rather get more bang for my bird buck and invest more in HP to not die immediately after attacking something. You're not going to be outspeeding shit like Lucario's Extremespeed or Bullet Punch.

Going for 4 Speed EV basically never is the right thing to do, at least go for 8 or 12 to outspeed other Talonflame. Also, I didn't do the exact calcs and it actually lokks quite good for a flying attacker, but there are certain things you may want to outspeed with Flare Blitz or U-Turn.
