Shame he was so easy to capture. Both legendaries really could have been memorable fights if the catch rate was lower. Xerneas buffing the fuck out of himself and Yveltal using Oblivion Wing to heal up.

Nah, it's definitely not. XY's themes are essentially more melodically consistent counterparts to a number of BW tracks. Except in the battle tracks department, the others just can't compose those like Masuda does

No, I'm trying to imply that a note played over and over is hardly an amazing bassline compared to basslines which actually involve craftsmanship.

If you'd posted the E4 battle theme and said "the bassline is awesome", I'd understand, because simple as it may be it's still more than a note playing and then the same note playing again at a higher octave.

I find that it's hard to compare the two. Overall, I enjoy Gen 5's soundtrack more because of the variety and I guess the style just appeals to me more. Especially in the route and town department. I mean, XY had some great route themes and town themes but I found that they were clustered near the end. The ones that didn't have their separate themes or instrument selection sounded very generic. And they reused music. I'm curious as to how these CDs will have over 200 pieces on it, unless there's a lot to be unlocked via events.

I've uploaded the soundtrack and can link it if anyone is interested.

It's not the highest quality and a couple of small tracks are missing but it's better than the Youtube videos and should tide you over until the official release next month.

I'm only four badges in, but so far I'm pretty unimpressed. I was so disappointed when the Gym Leader theme sucked so hard. Usually they're my favorite every game. The best music to me is the Team Flare theme.

However, that's as far as battle themes go. Route music and anything else is fine with me.
