Looking for a good build for this guy. What's a good nature, EV spread, and moveset for a Furfrou?

Also, do the haircuts have any effect on its stats at all, or are they purely aesthetic?

Haircuts do nothing in battle.
They look sweet as fuck though.

Modest Nature.
EV in SpAtk and HP.

I've been playing this lately. I'm considering swapping out Charge Beam or Surf for Roar, 'cause this guy dies against anything that uses SpAtk against him.

Yes, but we're dealing with what most would consider a shitty Pokemon.

Your only other option is to do HP/Atk and get him as many moves as he can STAB off of as possible. I just chose the SpAtk variant 'cause it's cooler Furfrou is all about looking cool, not being good.

You have Take Down, Wild Charge, and Headbutt. Unless you want to be ramming into everything, literally, I'd go with SpAtk.

If you're doing the physical moveset, Take Down, Wild Charge, and Headbutt, go with Adamant.

If you're going the SpAtk moveset, Charge Beam, Surf, Toxic, go Modest.

I feel like its ability makes it ideal for a defensive build. I'm not sure what its Sp. Def. is like, but that ability + high Def seems damn nice.

For your first choice, go with either SpDef or HP. He is a tank after all.

For your second choice, you can either go all in with tanking (choose whatever you didn't choose from above), or go with Atk to make him deal more damage.

I wish we knew what egg moves it got.

So disappointed Pyroar's roar moves don't pass down. Would have been perfect on a dog Pokemon.

Retaliate does double damage if a Pokemon the previous turn faints, but that means you have to use it right when you get Furfrou out. You NEED Cotton Guard on this guy, it's his second only redeeming feature besides his 1/2 physical damage defense.

Besides, Headbutt causes flinch. Not only is that useful, but when you get flinch chains going (when you, by seer luck, cause them to flinch multiple turns in a row), you'll be dying of laughter while they're literally dying.

Has anyone tried the elemental fangs? Does it even learn crunch?

This is the first dog design I've actually liked in the history of Pokemon but I'm waiting for egg moves to get shown before I try it out.

- Toxic
- U-Turn
- Facade
- Thunder Wave

Takes a bit of prediction but you either get a thunder wave off and cripple their sweeper, followed by u-turn into a more capable attacker or you just wall up with Toxic. Also soaks up status and gets STAB due to Facade.

I really hope Frou gets Play Rough or Foul Play as an egg move.

but, pure normal give no resistances, and it's movepool is garbage for its stats. AND NO RECOVERY OUTSIDE OF REST

Best set i could come up with was to max hp/def for a physical tank/hazer/annoyer set.
