Talk to him and he keeps saying "the Kalos region is great and all, but you should really check out my region. We have this [xyz] that you wouldn't believe... Never mind, you'll see it in due time".
Each time you talk to him (different day, different hotel each day), he tells you about a different amazing thing from his region.
In the end, he tells you that it's "not Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, or Unova" and gives you an item that looks like a stone tiki idol, which he says has something to do with a legendary pokemon revered in his region as a protector.
There's a maid downstairs after that who suggests that the item is important and you shouldn't sell it or throw it away.
