I mean, okay, I understand the idea behind Norman, at least. The author wanted to tell a specific story with Ruby, and warped Norman's personality to fit that story.
However, it's become increasingly clear that the author doesn't actually care about the games' contents at all. He only cares about telling his own story and simply uses Pokemon as a medium for it.
